The long case of football hazing that took place on Las Vegas, New Mexico nearly two years ago has finally ended and the ringleader of the incident was sentenced to a year in prison for holding down younger members of the team and sodomizing them with a broomstick.
A Las Vegas, N.M., teenager has been sentenced to a maximum one-year term at a juvenile jail for his role in the August 2008 sexual assaults of teammates on the Robertson High School football squad. Eighteen-year-old Lucas Martinez was led away in handcuffs Thursday from a Santa Fe courtroom after Judge Mark Macaron determined his involvement rose to a level justifying commitment to a juvenile facility. Several boys were held down against their will and sodomized with broomsticks during a training camp.
