Apparently this happened last night (May 3, 2010) during the Philadelphia Phillies vs. St. Louis Cardinals game at Citizens Bank Park. A fan waving a rally towel ran into outfield and managed to avoid security until a cop whips out a Taser and nails the guy. Remember the old days when they would just chase you around for awhile until you got tired . . . or sober? Here’s more on the story from Chicago Breaking Sports (Be sure to vote in our poll at right):
The Philadelphia Phillies are looking into further use of Taser guns after a police officer shocked a teenage fan who ran onto the field Monday. The fan hopped a fence and scurried around the outfield, eluding two security officers late in the game against the St. Louis Cardinals. One officer used a Taser and the fan went down in a heap. The Phillies say the police department is investigating the matter and discussing with the team whether it’s appropriate use of force under similar circumstances.

What’s the worst thing that’s ever happened to you at a professional sporting event? Whatever it was, it wasn’t even close to what happened to an 11-year-old girl and her father who were–according to cops–intentionally vomited on by another fan at the Phillies game Friday. No specifics on why this happened, but we think the mug shot of Matthew Clemmens, 21, gives you a bit of an idea of how the girl’s father responded to the puking.
