Right now it’s just an accusation, but a 23-year-old male gymnastics coach has some ‘splainin’ to do after he “accidentally” sent a picture of his genitals to a 13-year-old gymnast. Something most coaches probably don’t do during the course of the day.

The guy’s attorney says it’s all a big misunderstanding and that the picture was meant for someone else (how frequently are we hearing that excuse lately when it comes to sexting?) but the girl’s mom says she also found a picture of her daughter in her underwear and the kid claims her coach asked for a naked picture.

Police are investigating and with the way phone records are these days, it should be easy to track down whether the coach sent any other inciminating text messages to the girl or not. If he did, this could get ugly.

The 23-year-old instructor hasn’t been arrested or charged with anything. But the 13-year-old girl, a gymnast at South Sokol Gymnastics, and her mother are leveling some serious accusations against him. According to court records, the concerned mother contacted police when she found a picture of her daughter wearing only underwear, a picture that was sent to the man in February.   The mother also told detectives she found a picture of a man holding an erect penis, court records show.   The girl told investigators her gymnastics instructor requested nude photographs.    The girl said she felt uncomfortable with that, so she sent him the photo of her in her underwear.    The girl didn’t request a nude photo of her instructor, and was thus surprised when she got one, according to court documents.
