#Gator Linebacker Arrested After “Scooter Rage” Incident – #Florida, Dee Finley

Not a whole lot to tell about this story, other than Gator’s back-up linebacker Dee Finley needs to take Driver’s Training over again. First, he gets his license suspended, so he reduced to riding a scooter around campus. Not so bad, right? Unless, of course, the cops put up barricades and you decide to drive around them, like the rules of the road don’t apply to you. At that point, if a cops stops you, grabs you by the wrist and threatens to arrest you, best to comply BEFORE he has to pull out the Taser. Haven’t you seen any of the videos we’ve posted of people getting Tasered, Dee? It never ends well.

Finley now faces a third-degree felony for resisting arrest. At most schools, that would end your career. At Florida, it might just get him a starting spot . . . once he’s out of jail.

Arrested for Shoplifting: Two Florida Gator Football–Wait, Girls on the Swim Team?

The ugliness that is University of Florida sports has spread past the multitude of arrests for the football team and has now spilled over to the . . . women’s swimming team? Really? Damn.  The Gator “gang initiations” are getting tougher. This time it looks like the ladies had to sneak into the fancy retail store Nordstroms and make off with a couple of jackets. The ladies made it out all right, but store employees called the cops who caught up with the would-be thieves a short time later.  We like how Florida swim coach Gregg Troy calls the whole incident a ‘massive error in judgment.’  Coach Troy: what exactly was the error that they made? To get caught instead of NOT getting caught?

Two University of Florida swimmers were indefinitely suspended from the team after being arrested on shoplifting charges at an Orlando mall.   Authorities say juniors Lily Ramirez of Gainesville and Daniela Victoria of Plantation were arrested Saturday at The Florida Mall. According to an Orange County Sheriff’s Office report, they are accused of taking two jackets worth $130 from Nordstrom’s.

Store employees alerted deputies, who pulled over the women as they left the mall. Officials say the merchandise was returned to the store.  Florida swim coach Gregg Troy called the incident a ‘massive error in judgment.’

Happy 30th to Florida Coach Urban Meyer! Player Arrested Over Threatening Texts

No, Florida Coach Urban Meyer isn’t 30 years old. He also hasn’t been married 30 years (that we know of) and he hasn’t been coaching that long either. No, the 30 that we’re talking about is the 30th player arrested during his brief reign as head football coach at the University of Florida. This time, we have Gator receiver Chris Rainey charged with aggravated stalking. This after sending a female acquaintance a text that read: “Time to Die Bitch, u and ur???” after she refused to allow him into her home Monday night.

On the plus side, one of Meyer’s five “core values” of his football team is “respect for women” so obviously . . . wait, this is the exact opposite of that, isn’t it? Betcha Urban’s glad he decided to stay on the sidelines this season.

Rainey might have broken that core team value Tuesday morning when, according to Gainesville police, he sent a woman a text message that read, “Time to Die [expletive,] u and ur???”

The apparent threat was in response to a women’s refusal to allow Rainey into her residence around 11:10 p.m. and then asking him to leave, according to a police report. The woman contacted the Gainesville Police Department after receiving the disturbing text message. Gainesville police officer Jesse Bostick responded to the call and, according to the report, asked the woman to call Rainey “so I can [talk] to him.” The police report states that when the woman told Rainey that Bostick “wanted to talk to him, he replied, `Wait to see what happens when they leave.’ ”

Rainey was arrested at 3:15 a.m. at his apartment. After being arrested, Rainey admitted to sending the threatening text message but denied making the “wait-and-see” comment. According to the arrest report, Rainey and the woman have been dating off and on for approximately three years.

Rainey appeared in Alachua County court Tuesday morning and was released on his own recognizance by Alachua County Judge Denise R. Ferrero. University of Florida strength and conditioning coach Mickey Marotti was present for Rainey’s first appearance and vouched for the player when asked by Ferrero if Rainey could abide by a court-appointed curfew.

“Yes, he will,” Marotti said.
