It would seem simple enough to most of you, wouldn’t it? You can either go to jail for a long time OR get probation and follow some simple rules (like staying off drugs and registering as a sex offended) to stay a free woman. How hard is that? Apparently for former band director Alison Peck, it was too much to handle, so a judge is sending her to jail five years–the original sentence–for a variety of probation violations.
According to various reports, Peck pretty much failed every aspect of her probation. She was supposed to regularly report in to authorities as a sex offender; she did not. She was supposed to let them know her employment status; she didn’t do that either. And she was supposed to successfully complete a sex offender treatment program over the course of several years; nope, no progress there.
Peck was originally sentenced back in 2009 for having an affair with a 16-year-old former student. Police allege that Peck and two of her friends had a pizza party at a motel room with the teen and that after the friends left, Peck and the boy had sex.
Okay, having a female band director is kind of stretching it for “bad jocks” but that mug shot is priceless, isn’t it? And from what we can tell, she makes that same “can we get this over with?” face every time she gets arrested (see more examples below). Maybe a stint in jail will change her attitude?
Here’s the latest on the story from KSDK:
Alison Peck was given a five-year prison sentence in November 2009 in Greene County Circuit Court. But the sentence was suspended, allowing her to avoid prison time if she successfully completed five years’ probation and a sexual offender treatment program. On Friday, a judge reinstated the prison sentence.
The Springfield News-Leader reports Peck faces two criminal counts for failing to register as a sex offender and for multiple instances in which she failed to meet reporting requirements. Her probation officer also reported that she had two drug violations during that time.
Wow! They have everything at Kohls these days! You can–apparently–even pick up an underage boy to have sex with in a car parked in their parking lot. Now that’s what we call great customer service! Ask you bored high school teacher/customers what they want, and it seems like they will tell you. Unfortunately, we don’t think the store can legally do that so now a Plainfield North High School (Illinois) gym/dance teacher is in trouble with the law tonight.
Here’s more from Trib Local:
A Plainfield North High School teacher accused of having sex with a 16-year-old boy has bonded out of the Will County Adult Detention Center and faces a court hearing on Jan. 26. Will County Sheriff’s spokeswoman Kathy Hoffmeyer said today Ashley M. Blumenshine, 27, a physical education teacher, posted $7,500 bond around 5:30 p.m. Wednesday.
Blumenshine, who also coaches girls gymnastics at the school, has been ordered not to have unsupervised contact with anyone under age 18 after a judge set her bond Wednesday afternoon. A substitute teacher will assume Blumenshine’s teaching duties and counseling services are available for students, said Plainfield District 202 spokesman Tom Hernandez.
Blumenshine, of Lisle, was charged with criminal sexual abuse after police say she allegedly had sex on Tuesday with the 16-year-old, who is a junior at Plainfield North, in a vehicle behind Kohl’s, 11860 S. Route 59. Police chief Bill Doster said police approached the scene behind Kohl’s when they noticed two suspicious vehicles “at the end of the lot away from anything else.”
Will County Assistant States Attorney Mary Fillipitch stated at a bond hearing on Wednesday that both Blumenshine and the 16-year-old boy, identified as E.L. in court documents, admitted to having sex. Filipitch said a condom was found at the scene.

This story actually falls somewhere between a HS Coach Sex Scandal and a Dumbass. This guy is just a 37-year-old soccer player–not really a coach, more of a father figure–who played in a league that had practices and games at the same time that the local girls youth league team played. Bad idea.
Apparently the two got friendly over time. So friendly, in fact, that the girl’s mother allegedly caught the two in the back seat of his car. Then police were called.
And now the local soccer league is installing a barbed wire fence between the men’s field and where the girls are.
A 37-year-old soccer player who allegedly pursued a sexual relationship with a teenage girl on another soccer team was arrested on suspicion of child molestation Wednesday afternoon, the Sheriff’s Office reported. The mother of the 14-year-old Live Oak girl caught Jose Antonio Santana in the backseat of his car with her daughter, Sgt. Todd Liberty of the Sheriff’s Office sex crimes unit said. The two were in a compromising position and, when discovered by the girl’s mom, Santana ran, Liberty said.
The mother reported the incident to deputies. Santana was arrested around 1:45 p.m. Wednesday while at work on the 100 block of Plymouth Street in Santa Cruz, according to County Jail records. Liberty said the two met while playing soccer – she is on a girls team that practices or plays at the same fields as men’s team Santana is on – and had a relationship for some time.
