We’ve been following this story since, what March? Now it looks like the worst has happened and four members of the Carmel High School basketball team have been arrested on charges related to a hazing incident earlier this year. Here’s more from the UPI:

Four former Indiana high school basketball players charged with hazing were released on bond Tuesday morning after spending a night in jail. The four teens, who attend Carmel High School in Carmel, north of Indianapolis, turned themselves in Monday afternoon, the Indianapolis Star reported. They face misdemeanor offenses including criminal recklessness and assault. Prosecutors in Hamilton and Hendricks counties, who investigated incidents in the locker room and on a team bus, have revealed no details about what the four allegedly did.

The police investigation into allegations that several members of the boy’s basketball team did some inappropriate things on a team bus in January is apparently over. And, according to at least one source, as a result of that investigation there will be changes at Carmel High. Here’s my favorite quote from Bob Cook at True/Slant:

Carmel Clay Schools board president Jeff Carter says after the police investigation of the incidents is over, new policies will be put in place to encourage “more active oversight.” He doesn’t explain what that means, but it might be something like, “Coaches, get off your asses and see what’s going on in the back of the bus.”
