Snitch on Your School!

We here at BadJocks.com think the word “snitch” had gotten a bad rap.

As in “Snitches get stitches.” Which, if we were to be grammatically correct, should really read “Snitches receive stitches” which would be correct if they needed to have a wound closed using sutures.  Of course, that also implies they had received a beating in some way for their actions, which is at the root of the problem.

It wasn’t that long ago that been a snitch (or stoolie, stoolpidgeon, or canary) was actually cool. Really. Like back in the 80s or something. How the world has changed in just a few short years! Now, informing the authorities of wrong-doing is–believe it or not–seen as a BAD thing. Well, we want to change all that and the first step is the new BadJocks “Snitch on Your School!” program.

In the past year we have seen an upheaval in college sports (most notably Division 1 football) that in part, seems to be caused by a lack of information. School officials and coaches just don’t know enough about what their players are doing to take corrective action, BEFORE the NCAA has to get involved.  Would former Ohio State head coach Jim “The Vest” Tressel still be coaching the Buckeyes if someone had just told him most of his star players were exchanging sports memorabilia for tattoos? Would Reggie Bush still be playing for USC if only someone had told his coaches that agents were giving him and his parents gifts? And don’t even get us started on how quickly the University of Miami situation would have been solved if someone would have just spoke up about the cash, drugs, and hookers? Think about it: you could be the person to save your college or university serious post-season sanctions, millions of dollars in lost revenue, and public humiliation. AND you can make yourself $10 at the same time. Wow!

How?

Just send an email to snitch@badjocks.com with the basic information involving the alleged NCAA violations at your school and as much detail as possible. (Click here for the NCAA Student-Athlete Eligibility and Recruiting rules.)  The more detail, the easier it will be for us to follow-up on your snitch–er-detailed report, and make an official complaint to the NCAA. Should we be able to verify enough information for such a report, based on your tip, we’ll send you a $10 Amazon gift card . . . and our hearty thanks! We will also, at your request, keep your name anonymous and serve as a go between you and the angry news media.

Should your complaint lead to a full blown NCAA investigation, well, you’ll be  hero at your school!

Please note: we don’t want an email that reads: “Some guys on the football team got drunk, I think. Where’s my ten bucks?”  We need names, dates, and specific violations of the NCAA rules (not just breaking the law) . . . like getting money from an agent, cash from a slimy booster, or even some kind of recruiting violation. The more detail we get, the quicker you’ll get your gift certificate . . . assuming it’s a legitimate NCAA violation.
