Former NBA Player Arrested for Beating Neighbor

This is a strange story and I'm sure we're going to hear more about it at some point, but for now, we have one former NBA player in jail and his neighbor a little bruised. Here's more from Cincinnati.com:
Kirk Snyder, 25, a former Minnesota Timberwolves player, was arrested early Monday after Warren County sheriff’s officials said he broke into a neighbor’s home in the 5300 block of Commonwealth Drive in Deerfield Township around 3:40 a.m. and attacked the man while he was sleeping.

He is due to appear for arraignment on charges of aggravated burglary and felonious assault 9 a.m. Tuesday in Mason Municipal Court. A female resident told investigators she was awakened by the sound of glass breaking downstairs.

When she got up to investigate, a tall assailant pushed her aside and ran to the upstairs bedroom where he began to beat her sleeping husband, authorities said. The woman said she was able to pull the hood off the suspect’s head. The man ran out the same back door he broken in. A police canine and other information led deputies to Snyder’s nearby residence. He was taken into custody within minutes of the attack.

HS Soccer Coach Arrested After Offering Undercover Cop $20 for Sex

$20 for sex? The economy REALLY must be tanking if the working girls are seeing their pay cut that much. But, once again, someone is likely to comment below about how this shows that we need to pay our teachers more.

Here's more from News4Jax:

Marc Osterberger, 38, worked at Nease High School during the girls' soccer season that ended two months ago. Head of human resources Jim Springfield told Channel 4 that Osterberger came highly recommended from a soccer club, and in October of last year, the St. Johns County School District hired Osterberger as a part-time employee to coach the Nease team.

"The references from that organization were very high. He was rated in the top 5 percent of all applicants," Springfield said. Osterberger was only meant to work with the district through January. In February, however, he got into some trouble with
the law.

According to a police report, Jacksonville police caught Osterberger in an undercover prostitution sting in the 7900 block of 103rd Street. The report states Osterberger wanted an undercover officer to perform sex for $20 cash. The report also states, Osterberger exposed himself to the officer.

Female Teacher/Cross Country Coach Accused of Sex With Boy, 16 - Sarah L. Tolzien

Another day, another female teacher caught having sex with a male student. Is anyone even remotely surprised anymore? Probably not.

This one comes to us from the Chicago area where Sarah L. Tolzien, 24, a first-year English teacher and cross country coach at Rich South High School has been charged with criminal sexual assault after a 16-year-old boy claims the pair had sex twice while she was, uh, giving him a lift home. Their activity came to light in December after the victim's parents allegedly found naughty text messages sent to the boy from Tolzien. (Daily Herald)

Pasty Female Streaker "Highlight" of UK Rugby Match

We've had a lot of naked male streakers lately, but this is the first naked female streaker we can remember in quite a while . . . and she seems to be enjoying herself in the picture at right. Looks like she could use some time in the tanning booth, but otherwise she's not bad looking.

Here's more from the Get Bracknell:

This London Irish girl was definitely ‘bottom’ of the league after giving rugby fans an eyeful on Sunday. The cheeky streaker caused a stir as she dashed across the pitch during the club’s 32-27 win against Northampton at Madejski Stadium. With only a green jacket to keep her warm, the naked entertainer pranced around the field with gleeful abandon much to the amusement of the players on both sides.

Woman Arrested for Running Over Friend With Golf Cart

Could this be the BadJock Quote of the Year? "I don't know what the issue was but the wack-job drove over her." Keep reading.

No, it didn't happen on the golf course, but it did happen near the horse shoe pits at the Bulow RV Resort (is that the same as a mobile home park?) in Florida, so we are going to count the driver as a bad jock.

Details on this are still sketchy, but apparently the victim, Lorain Boylan, 56, recently ended her friendship with 41-year-old Linda Pearce (mug shot right) sometime before the two were both watching the action at the park's horse shoe pit. On St. Patrick's Day. During the RV park's annual party.

Yep. You can see where this one is going.

According to witnesses, Pearce publicly announced that she was "going to run this ***** over" ("bitch" seems to be the most obvious choice here, but she may also have said "geezer" or "wench") and proceeded to do so . . . with her high powered, uh, golf cart. Boylan--who doesn't appear to have been hurt very badly in the incident--was unable to get out of the way of the speeding golf cart and was allegedly dragged 15 yards (probably very, very slowly) before neighbors stopped the cart and got Boylan to safety then called the cops.

Pearce was arrested and charged with aggravated battery with a deadly weapon. Of course, she claims that Boylan "accidentally" stepped in front of the vehicle despite witnesses who claim she boasted about what she was going to do beforehand. (And here's the BadJocks Quote of the Year, folks.) According to witness Ron "Are We Live?" Cochran, "I don't know what the issue was but the wack-job drove over her," adding, "She said I'm going to run over that blank and proceeded to do it... right in front of everybody."

Arresting officers claim Pearce was--surprise!--intoxicated when they arrested her. (My FOX Orlando - link includes great video clip)

Former Lions Star Charles Rogers Gets 30 Days in Jail for Lying About Attending AA Meetings

Wide receiver Charles Rogers was a star when he was at Michigan State University. He was drafted #2 by the Detroit Lions in the 2003 NFL draft and reportedly had contracts worth tens of millions of dollars. But his pro career never really took off and after a series of injuries--and a suspension for smoking weed--he was let go in 2006. Since then he was supposed to be completing a court-ordered sobriety program, but allegedly falsified documents indicating he had been attending Alcoholics Anonymous meetings. But rather than go back to "sobriety court" Rogers decided to take his chances with jail and was ordered to spend 30 days behind bars instead. Here's more on the story from the Detroit News:
Former Detroit Lion and one-time star Michigan State wide receiver Charles Rogers was sentenced to serve a jail term Tuesday after failing yet another court-ordered substance abuse test and deciding that a special court for drug and alcohol offenders was not for him. "Mr. Rogers, I understand you want out of sobriety court?" Novi District Judge Brian MacKenzie asked Rogers, 27, a former standout and first round NFL draft pick.
"Yes sir," said Rogers, leaning against a wall in navy blue jail garb, his once multimillion dollar hands handcuffed in front of him. McKenzie ordered Rogers back to the Oakland County Jail for 30 days and gave him credit for 15 days served, including six since Thursday, when he was quietly jailed for violating condition of court. With good time he will likely be released in mid-April.
Rogers appeared to prefer jail instead of toughing out the 18-month sobriety court and its rules and regulations until June.

Gym Teacher Accused of Using Cell Phone to Take Pictures in Boys Locker Room

Is there really any reason for you to be carrying your cell phone around with you in a room full of half-naked high school boys? Especially after you've been told repeatedly (sometimes in writing) not to do so.

Accusations that a Florida high school gym teacher repeatedly took his camera phone in the locker room--even after complaints were filed--may lead to his dismissal. Here's more from WFTV:

A cell phone could get a Brevard County middle school teacher fired because school administrators said he kept insisting on bringing it into the boy's locker room. Police told Channel 9 there's no indication that teacher Carl Stamm ever took pictures of any boys at Southwest Middle School in Palm Bay, but he was told by administrators to stop bringing his camera phone into the locker room.

Stamm was warned twice by two different principals here over two years. Regardless of whether he actually used his phone to take pictures of students in the locker room, the school district said he's not following orders. Carl Stamm's 18-year career as a physical education teacher and basketball coach could soon be over because of his cell phone.

The principals at Southwest Middle School received complaints that the 63-year-old teacher was using his cell phone to take pictures inside the boys' locker room. "The students each and every time had the perception he was taking photographs with his cell phone," said Andrea Alford, security director.

Administrators warned Stamm verbally and in writing not to take out his cell phone in the locker room again, but they received another complaint. "He was given a specific order, a directive. You are not to take your cell phone in the locker room," said Alford.

Former College Football Player Turned Prison Guard Arrested for Sex With Female Inmates

At the end of the day, even sometimes great college football players don't get to play in the NFL. When that happens, they have to find work in another field. But a prison guard? Well, that is good work, if you can find it . . . especially in a WOMEN'S prison. Unless, of course, you get accused of having sex with one of the incarcerated ladies. Apparently, while that happens often in the movies, the authorities frown upon it.

Here's more from KTVB:

A former Boise State football player has run afoul of the law. Tim Gilligan was booked into the Ada County Jail Thursday on two felony counts of having sexual contact with an inmate.

The 28-year-old former prison guard is accused of having sexual contact on three separate occasions with a female inmate in April 2007. The woman did not reported the incidents to an IDOC employee until December 2008. An investigation was started and now Gilligan has been charged with a crime. Gilligan player wide receiver for the Broncos from 2000 to 2003.

Coach Fired for Making False Assault Claim Against Student

Here's an abbreviated version of the story:

Assistant Football Coach: Player assaulted me on school bus.
School: We watched the videotape of the bus ride and nothing happened.
Assistant Football Coach: Videotape? Crap.
School: You're fired.

A good rule of thumb there: if you're going to make a false claim against a student, best to do it somewhere where they district DOESN'T have video cameras. Here's more on the story from The Tampa Tribune:

A high school teacher lost his job today for falsely accusing a junior varsity football player of assaulting him on a school bus after a game. Pasco County school board members voted unanimously to fire Hudson High School teacher Deane DeLoach after watching a videotape of the Sept. 25 bus ride and hearing from witnesses.

"The evidence was overwhelming," board member Allen Altman said. DeLoach, who had been on unpaid leave since Nov. 4, requested an employee appeal hearing before the school board, but he and his attorney walked out of that hearing Feb. 10, saying they didn't think he could receive a fair shake.

DeLoach's troubles began Sept. 25 when Hudson High's junior varsity football team played at Ridgewood High. DeLoach, an assistant coach, told a freshman player who had been disruptive earlier to sit beside him on the ride back to Hudson High after the game. The next day, DeLoach told an assistant principal and the school resource officer that the student, wearing shoulder pads, had knocked him across the bus aisle.

Assistant Principal Scott Davey and Cpl. John Watson testified at the hearing that they had watched the videotape later that day and that it did not show any physical contact between DeLoach and the student. Watson testified that a few days later he told DeLoach that the video showed his allegations were unfounded. He said he told DeLoach he could be charged with filing a false report but that he was not going to pursue charges. "He seemed very surprised there was a videotape," Watson said.

Third Female Gym Teacher in Bay Area Arrested for Sex With Underage Girl - Megan Sainsbury

Megan Sainsbury, 31, the gym teacher at Prospect High School in Saratoga, CA became the third female physical education coach in as many weeks in to be arrested for an alleged relationship with an underage girl in the San Francisco bay area. The good news? The last two were arrested on felony charges, Sainsbury has only been hit with a misdemeanor . . . so far.

At right, Megan Sainsbury's mug shot picture.

Here's more from KCBS:

Megan Sainsbury was booked into county jail on three misdemeanor charges of child annoyance, but posted bail and is waiting for arraignment. Amy Cornell, a spokeswoman with the Santa Clara County District Attorney's office, says the alleged abuse took place from October 2007 through January 2009. According to the San Jose Mercury News, Sainsbury bought the teen gifts, including a cell phone, to encourage the girl to continue the relationship. This is the third time in two weeks that a female P.E. teacher has been arrested in the South Bay on suspicion of having an inappropriate relationship with a female student.

Today in Naked Sports History: England's First Sports Streaker

Thirty five years ago today, a young Australian started a trend that continues to amuse, and occasionally offend, sports fans around the world. For on March 16, 1974, the first sports streaker made his debut at the England-Wales rugby match. It also provided one of the iconic pictures in all of sports (at right) with the British policeman using his helmet to cover up the modesty of one Michael O'Brien, an Australian trainee accountant, who gave his performance at half-time to--you guessed it--win a bet.

O'Brien now claims that once he pulled his clothes off it was all a blank, but then also admits that the police allowed him to touch a railing at the opposite end of the field to win the bet. At that point he was escorted off the field by the officers, was jailed and eventually fined . . . the exact amount he won in the bet.

The photo, of course, has become a classic over the years.
No word on the fate of the officer's helmet. (Scrum.com)
I remember seeing the photo for the first time in the spring of 1974 while watching the Tonight Show with Johnny Carson. He was doing one of his "bits" that involved showing pictures from the news under the idea that they were promotional photos for new fall TV shows. When this one popped up, he claimed it was for a show called "A Hatful of Ralph" and that joke got one of the biggest laughs I ever recall seeeing on the show. Anyone else remember that bit?

College Track Star Shoots Up Spring Break Hot Tub Party

Is that a gun in your swim trunks or are you just happy to be in a hot tub with me?
Oh, it's a real gun? Sorry about that.

Nothing shortens your spring break like an arrest for shooting your gun off at a bunch of racists you've been sharing a hot tub with!

According to police, a couple of current and former members of the Norfolk State University track team were arrested over the weekend at a Florida resort on allegations they fired guns into the air after someone made racial slurs against them. Police say the two African American jocks were in a hot tub at a resort when they were "racially harassed by a group of about 15 white people from Florida who also were on spring break. "

The pair reportedly responded to the slurs by going back to their hotel room and retrieving not only a .357-caliber Glock AND a .380-caliber Bersa. You would have thought the sight of these two heavy duty firearms would have sent the Florida creeps into a chorus of pants wetting apologies. Nope.

Instead, the group continued to allegedly make racist remarks as they walked away, prompting the two jocks to reportedly fire several shots in the air. It was shortly there after that police arrested Carlton Kenneth Phipps, 21, of Norfolk, a junior on the NSU track team, and Raymond Eric Brown, 23, of Columbia, Va., an NSU graduate and former track team member, charged both with aggravated assault, possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime and discharging a firearm in public.

No word on what charges, if any, will be filed against the idiots who continued to taught these guys with guns pointed at them. (Virginian Pilot)

"Worst Streaker Ever" Subdued by Female Steward

Another UK soccer game, another soccer streaker. But this time, it didn't turn out quite like this likely drunken fan had planned. Instead of several minutes of stadium--and maybe TV--glory, he was quickly tackled by a female security guard, put in a headlock and shuffled out of the stadium. Oh, and there may also have been some "shrinkage" due to the cold weather. Yeah, that's it. It was cold. At right, our hero just before he was taken down. (Click the link below for a larger view . . . if you really want it!)

Here's more from the Bury Times:

Shocked football fans got more than they bargained for at Gigg Lane on Saturday when a male streaker charged on to the pitch during Bury’s home game against local rivals Rochdale.

The naked fan only made it a couple of yards on to the pitch when he was tackled by a female steward, who grabbed hold of him by the neck and led him away. The man's modesty was then covered up and he was carted off by police. Rochdale fan, Jan Harwood, said: "He was the worst streaker ever. It was hilarious, but I felt a bit sorry for him. It was a very cold day."

Luckily, the incident did not affect Bury, who went on to beat promotion rivals Rochdale 2-1.

UroClub Commercial: The Solution When You Just Gotta Go at the Golf Course!

As if playing golf with your grandpa wasn't already embarrassing enough . . .just wait until someone buys him a UroClub. And no, this is not a hoax or parody. You can visit the UroClub website and learn that this little dandy is "discrete, sanitary way for your urgent relief." Is the inability to find a tree to pee on at a golf course really that big a problem? The site also boasts that the UroClub was "Created by a Board Certified Urologist, it looks like an ordinary golf club, but contains a reservoir built into the grip to relieve yourself," and boasts the club is ". . . leak proof, easy to clean and no more embarrassing moments."

Okay, a couple of questions here for the "Board Certified Urologist" who created this monstrosity:

What happens when the "reservoir" is full, or more importantly GETTING full while you're using it, say after 2, 3 or 13 beers? Do you let it just overflow and spill onto your hands or do you drop it in a panic, possibly spilling urine on your shoes, pants--and potentially--the poor little bastard who's earning $5 to caddy for you? There's no tip in the world big enough to erase that image from a young mind.

Second: That little "quarterback hand wiping towel" is a nice idea, but doesn't it, occasionally, get windy on the golf course? As bad as it might be for someone to spot you taking a leak on some bush, if you're out in the middle of the course "lining up your shot" (as the video says) and a stiff breeze comes along, you're likely going to jail for indecent exposure. And what's the stroke play penalty for that? Is it a free drop, loss of a stroke, or do Winter Rules apply?

And last, but not least: what does one do with a "full club." Do you haul it around in your bag for the rest of the day, or do you find a place to dump it . . . say in the tee area where that annoying foursome behind you will soon be teeing off? Should golf courses provide a "urine drop zone?"

Watch the video below and try--TRY--not to laugh.

The good news? I know what my dad's getting for Father's Day . . . and he doesn't even play golf!

BadJocks First? HS Athletic Association Exec Accused of Embezzling Money From Group

Over the years we've seen many stories of parents or coaches taking money from local Little Leagues or soccer groups. Sometimes pretty substantial sums of money ranging from a few hunderd to tens of thousands of dollars. But usually those are pretty small organizations with little, if any, accounting oversight. But a statewide athletic association? How hard would it be to skim a little off the top at a place like that with dozens of employees and lots of local media attention? Apparently not that hard in Oklahoma.

Here's more on the story from Tulsa World:

Oklahoma Secondary School Activities Association executive secretary Danny Rennels was fired Monday after an investigation uncovered alleged misappropriation of association funds. Rennels had been on a leave of absence since Feb. 13.

He was dismissed in a unanimous vote during a special meeting of the OSSAA's Board of Directors. He had been the highest-ranking official of the organization, which oversees most of Oklahoma high school sports since 1999.

Associate executive secretary Ed Robinson was appointed to take Rennels' place on an interim basis Feb. 13, and his status is unchanged. The OSSAA issued a release Monday stating it had learned on Feb. 2 that it appeared Rennels had misappropriated OSSAA funds.

The release states that, "The Association retained the law firm of Gungoll, Jackson, Collins, Box and Devoll, P.C., and Fraud and Forensic Investigations, LLC, (1) to investigate the actions of Danny Rennels, (2) to determine if misappropriated funds can be recovered in whole or in part and (3) to report to the appropriate law enforcement and regulatory agencies."

Cheerleader Stripper Pole Dad Hit With More Charges

Things are going from bad to worse for Steven A. Russo, 36, the father of a Bethlehem, PA teen, accused of hosting underage drinking parties at his home and encouraging cheerleaders from Freedom High School to make use of the stripper pole in his basement.

Now comes word that Mr. Russo is facing additional charges of of a witness and criminal conspiracy. That's not good. No word on who exactly he was uh, "tampering" with, but it could be one of the girls involved or maybe the guy who installed the pole. Who knows?

He also has apparently lost custody of his 4-year-old son after the tot's maternal grandfather found Russo and the boy sitting in a running vehicle in a closed garage. The boy's mother thinks this was a suicide attempt on Russo's part and a judge has now ordered him to stay away from the boy. (Lehigh Valley Live)

And no, we still don't have any of the pictures of the HS cheerleaders actually making use of Mr. Russo's stripper pole . . . but we're still looking.

Bucs Linebacker Stabbed in Neck by Girlfriend - Geno Hayes

How mad would your girlfriend have to be to stab you in the neck? That's probably not a "You left the toilet seat up again!" argument. The real reason that Shevelle Bagley, 19, stabbed Tampa Bay Buccaneers linebacker Geno Hayes in the neck over the weekend may never be revealed but one thing is for certain: this was not a toast buttering accident.

One thing we do know: this isn't the first time Hayes has met up with the law. Back in 2007 the former Florida State star was tasered by cops.

Here's more from TampaBay.com:

Shevelle Bagley, 19, at right, faces an aggravated battery charge after deputies say she grazed his head with a pair of scissors, then stabbed him in the neck with a kitchen knife during dispute with Hayes Saturday.

The incident happened in a residence where Carter said the two live. A friend of Hayes' took him to Tampa General Hospital, where he was treated and released within a few hours, Carter said. Bagley was arrested at home at 4:30 p.m. Saturday. She was released on $25,000 bond Sunday.

Deputies don't know what the argument between Hayes and Bagley entailed.

Brawl Breaks Out at HS Basketball Game, Cops Use Mace to Break It Up

These brawls at high school basketball games are getting so common, school officials should just plan for them and end the games at half time and hand out mace to all the teachers. This latest incident could have been worse: one of the teens arrested had a handgun fall out of his pants during the melee. Oops! Here's more from the Star Tribune:

St. Paul police arrested a student for possession of a stolen firearm and ticketed a 17-year-old for disorderly conduct after a fight broke out Saturday at a showcase basketball game at Arlington High School.

The Twin City Championship pitted St. Paul Johnson against Minneapolis Washburn.

Police spokesman Pete Crum said Monday that the melee involved fans from both sides and required about 20 officers to quell. A chemical irritant was used, he said, and officers had to work to separate parents and children from the combatants.

An 18-year-old man who identified himself as a Highland Park High School student was arrested after a gun fell out of his waistband during a struggle with police, Crum said. He had not threatened anyone with the weapon, he added.

Father Head Butts Official Who Disqualified Wrestler

And it wasn't even his own kid! Talk about really getting into youth sports!

Once again, at BadJocks we content that it's the adults--not the kids--who are ruining youth sports. Here's the latest example--with a great video clip--from WATE:
During a Jefferson County middle schools wrestling match Tuesday night, a parent head butted a referee. The match was between Maury Middle School and Jefferson Middle School, which was the host. The incident happened around 8:15. The father who did the head butting, Bobby Glenn Williams, of White Pine, is charged with simple assault.

Administrators say Williams didn't like a call made by the referee, John Croxdale, of Talbott, so he went onto the court and head butted him. Croxdale only had a minor red mark on his head, according to Chief Clark. 6 News caught up with Williams Wednesday morning as he headed into Maury Middle to pick up his son, a wrestler in eighth grade. "Yes, I apologize because it was wrong of my wrong doings, you know," he said.

Youth Basketball Coach Arrested for Using Profanity During Game

What the f*ck is wrong with you sh*theads? You can't #@*& in front of a bunch of kids you're supposed to be coaching!

Then again, breaking a door on you way out of the game probably doesn't help. Here's more from the Norwich Bulletin:

A coach for a girls basketball team was arrested during the weekend after yelling obscenities during a game at Andover Elementary School, state police said. Christopher Robson, 44, of 17 Amidon Drive, Ashford, became disruptive during the basketball game attended by about 50 people, including young children, police said.

Police said Robson became angry when he was told to leave the school gymnasium and broke a door off the hinge on his way out. Robson was charged with breach of peace and third-degree criminal mischief.

Cops: Teens Accused of Urinating in Soda - Hartford Union High School

What's worse than learning one of your teammates may have peed in your soda? Hearing that it wasn't the first time it happened at your school! What's wrong with kids these days? All I can say is, urine big trouble now, mister!

Here's more from The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel:

Police are asking the Washington County district attorney to issue felony juvenile charges against three Hartford Union High School students accused of urinating in people's beverages. While police were investigating a complaint that two junior boys put urine in soda at a basketball game last month, they learned of another incident that occurred in November, Police Chief David Groves said Tuesday. In the two unrelated cases, people unknowingly drank from the tainted beverages, police said.

According to the police report and coach Ben Hoffmann, a 15-year-old boy told police that on Nov. 28 the basketball team was involved in a fund-raising effort in the community during which a 16-year-old student took a drink with him into the restroom and later offered it to any teammate who wanted it.

The 15-year-old boy took a sip and stopped when the other boys started to laugh. Hoffmann said that when he learned what the boys were laughing at, he suspended the older boy for two games and called the boys' parents. In the other incident, two boys are accused of putting urine in soda. The suspects e-mailed other students, telling them who drank the mixture, police say. An administrator got one of the e-mails and called police.

HS Wrestling Coach Accused of Pistol Whipping Student

Now there's a headline you don't see every day! Hell, I've been doing this site for more than 9 years and I don't think I've ever seen (or written) that sentence before. At least I hope not.

According to police, Highland Park High School (Michigan) wrestling coach Jamar "I'll Give You Something to Cry About" Whitfield allegedly pistol-whipped a 19-year-old former wrestler/student of his for--wait for it!--misplacing the coach's car keys. No, seriously. A man charged with molding the fragile character of our youth decided the best way to deal with a student who made a mistake was to beat the crap out of him with the butt of a gun.

The police report says that Whitfield brought his squad to nearby Ferndale High School after school last Thursday to practice for an upcoming wrestling event. So far, so good. Afterwards, as they were leaving, the coach and the victim reportedly got into an argument about 6:30 p.m which then, naturally, became physical. That's when Coach Whitfield, relying on his education and years of experience, allegedly went into his vehicle (not sure how he got in without the car keys, but whatever) and retrieved his pistol, then went back to the student, grabbed him, and struck him in the head with the gun. That makes everything better now, doesn't it?

In a brilliant move, the 19 year-old victim then allegedly grabbed a cart and broke windows out of Coach Whitfield 's minivan . . . hopefully when he was not standing there watching the whole thing with a loaded gun in his hands. The Oakland County Prosecutor’s Office says it plans to seek a warrant for felonious assault against Whitfield next week.

At right, Whitfield's closed eye mug shot with really creeps me out for some reason. Maybe because he looks dead or something. I thought the cops wouldn't let you close your eyes or make funny faces in mug shots?

Man Arrested for Taking Upskirt Video at Drill & Dance Competition

If you're going to try and get some naughty pictures of some high school cheerleaders and dance team squads, best not to do it in a gym filled with their fathers. And the last thing you want to do, if confronted by a group of angry fathers in the parking lot, is to blurt out, "I admit it, I am a pervert and I was taking pictures of your children." You think that'd help, but no, it won't.

Here's more on the story from The Olympian:
Matthew Conrad Anderson is accused of taking pictures showing the undergarments of female participants in the competition. On Monday in Thurston County Superior Court, he was ordered held on $25,000 bail on suspicion of the voyeurism charge. Police seized Anderson's cameras, and found photos showing "a close up view of the young girl's groin area showing her 'spankies' or outside underwear," court papers state.

Anderson was arrested Saturday after several of the girls who were competing told their fathers "a man had been taking pictures up their skirts while they were sitting in the bleachers," court papers state.

According to court papers: One of the fathers followed a man who was taking pictures of the girls as the photographer walked around the competition. The man, later identified as Anderson, said "he was a University of Washington student and goes to all these types of events and takes pictures."

The father asked Anderson whether he could view the pictures, but Anderson refused. Anderson walked away as two of the fathers continued to follow him; the fathers said it appeared that Anderson was trying to delete pictures from the camera. The fathers detained Anderson until police arrived.

One of the witnesses interviewed by police said "Anderson had been seen roaming beneath the bleachers" as the drill and dance team members sat there and Anderson was "taking photographs of the teenagers from below."

Anderson also told a police officer, "I admit it, I was taking pictures up girls' skirts." After Anderson was advised of his Miranda rights, he was asked why he was at Capital High School that night, and he said, "I want an attorney."

Geezer Golfers Brawl Over Mistakenly Struck Ball

A warning for you golfers in the Austin, Texas area: Don't hit a ball belonging to Harry Russell, Jr. by mistake. If you do, that'll be a chest bumping . . . maybe worse. Here's more from the Austin American-Statesman:

Austin police have filed charges against a 65-year-old man who is accused of pushing another man to the ground during an argument at a local golf course in September, according to an arrest affidavit.

According to an arrest affidavit, Harry Russell Jr. became angry at John Vasquez, 71, after Vasquez hit a golf ball at the Jimmy Clay golf course in Southeast Austin that belonged to Russell.

Russell bumped Vasquez in his chest, knocking him to the ground, the affidavit says. Vasquez had a club in his hand that Russell took away
, according to the affidavit.

Charges against Russell were filed Friday, although it was unclear whether he has been arrested. He faces felony charges of injury to the elderly, a third-degree felony that carries a penalty of 10 years in prison. He is currently not in Travis County Jail.

#1 for 2009: Golf Cart in Water!

2009 has started off slowly for the Golf Cart in Water category, but this one might make up for it.

Usually, it's a couple of high school kids who break into a course in the middle of the night, steal the carts and then drive them into a pond, lake or pool. Groundskeeper Willie comes in the morning and finds the damage. The End.

But not this time.

This time we have a grown man stealing a cart (with two sets of clubs in it!) in the middle of the day and then--we're not making this up--driving it to a nearby Walgreens. When stopped by an officer, this guy's first reaction was to RAM THE POLICE CAR and take off. The surprised cop gave chase, first on foot, then in a police car, then back on foot, before Mr. Grand Theft Auto-Junior ditched the cart in a swamp and was arrested. He now faces a litany of charges including aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer and resisting arrest. All for a trip to Walgreens.

Here's more detail from The St. Petersburg Times:

Authorities say Jonathan C. Pierce, a 29-year-old self-employed graphic designer from Port Richey, sneaked onto Magnolia Valley Golf Course in New Port Richey and fled in the white cart. Witnesses trailed him until a deputy with the Pasco County Sheriff's Office arrived. According to a report, the deputy found Pierce and the cart at a Walgreens parking lot on Massachusetts Avenue. The deputy told the suspect to stop, but he rammed the patrol car with the golf cart and sped off, the report said.

The deputy ran after the golf cart, shouting for the suspect to stop, but the cart was too fast. So the deputy circled back and got his patrol car. He followed the cart in his car, now using the loudspeaker to tell the driver to stop. The cart, according to the report, cut through back yards — forcing the deputy to stop and follow again on foot. Backup arrived.

The chase ended when Pierce drove the golf cart into a swamp, the report states. He ran, but was caught.

Pierce is charged with grand theft of a motor vehicle, two charges of grand theft (for the hijacked golf bags), aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer, resisting arrest and felony fleeing to elude a law enforcement officer. He was being held at the Land O'Lakes jail in lieu of $24,150 bail.

Cops: Dad Gave High School Cheerleaders Booze, Stripper Pole

UPDATE: Cheerleader Stripper Pole Dad's Criminal Complaint - Our friends at TheSmokingGun.com have done it again! They have the complete police report with all the juicy details abou the "cool dad" arrested this week on charges he gave booze to teens and encouraged underage HS cheerleaders to use the stripper pole in his basement. (In his basement? Where does he live, above a gentleman's club?) Read the full report here.

EARLIER: Nothing says you're a cool dad like hosting booze parties, sharing tales of your sexual exploits and encouraging HS cheerleaders to take turns on the stripper pole in your basement. The details of this story are truly amazing!

Police in Bethlehem, PA say it all started with an angry member of the Freedom High School cheerleading squad. That girl found a Facebook picture of a rival on the squad, wearing her cheerleader outfit, working a stripper pole in the basement of Steven Russo's (pictured, right) home. She turned that over to the cheerleading coach and--based on the unwritten rules about underage cheerleaders and stripper poles--she was removed from the squad . . . but not your imagination, eh? (Below is a video of a young lady having a little problem with her pole routine.)

But the fun doesn't end there! A second picture then surfaces of Russo, 36, being kissed on the cheek by two girls aged 14 & 16. All of those were turned over to a high school resource officer (cop) which launched into an investigation of accusations that Russo--who has a 17-year-old son--hosted a booze party at his house on December 12, 2008. At one point, Russo alleged turned up the music called out to the teens, "Get on the pole!" Oh, and there was alleged a "sex room" called "The Cave" upstairs that the teens could use. (Incredible details below) Russo is now charged with nine counts of endangering the welfare of children, eight counts of furnishing alcohol to minors and nine counts of corruption of minors.

Here's more from Lehigh Valley Live:

The teens allegedly listened to Russo spin tales about his sexual exploits and drank vodka, rum and beer he gave them. They also mingled in the basement while he played music and shouted, "Get on that pole," according to a criminal complaint filed by Bethlehem Township police at the office of District Judge Joseph Barner.
Also according to court documents:
Freedom High School teacher Carrie McAndrews approached police with photos from the alleged party Feb. 4 and cheerleading coach Alicia Zito told police she was shown photos by a member of the squad culled from the social networking site Facebook.
The photos show teenage girls using the "stripper" pole while dancing and two girls kissing Russo on his face.
Zito told police one girl in the photos wearing a Freedom cheerleading outfit while dancing with the pole was dismissed from the squad. The students identified in the photos said they had been to Russo's many times and the house was known as a place to hang out and drink -- one said "a lot" of kids were at the house that night.
The girls said Russo did not try anything with them, but encouraged one 16-year-old as she removed her shirt during the Dec. 12 party. One teen mentioned Russo's house has a room called "the cave" on the second floor where people have sex. One boy claimed he was there that night because another teen planned to have sex and he was "hooking up," with one of the other girls. The boy said they left after his friend was finished.
A 14-year-old girl said she drank Red Bull and vodka at the party and Russo's son became sick from excessive consumption. She later sneaked out of the house with a friend because "the rule is that if you drink alcohol there you have to sleep over because (Russo) doesn't want to get in trouble ..."
