#90! Hot Blonde Cross Country Coach Accused of Affair With Male Student - Amy McElhenney, 25, a first-year teacher/cross country coach at Hebron High School (Texas) and a former Miss Texas contestant faces up to 20 years in prison after an 18-year-old student told police he had sex with her. (She's not exactly Pamela Rogers, but she ain't bad.) As a result, Ms. McElhenney becomes our 90th HS Coach Sex Scandal of 2006. According to police, their investigation started when another student at the school sent an anonymous note to them indicating that Ms. McElhenney's cell phone contained "intimate" text messages to and from the 18-year-old victim. Although McElhenney allegedly allowed cops to view the messages, she denied having a physical relationship with the boy, although she did admit their contact might have been inappropriate. Things might have ended there, but officers felt the messages they saw showed that there was a "little bit more going on between the teacher and this student" and interviewed the boy. Would it surprise you to learn that the young man gave officers a completely different version of events? The 18-year-old provided them with a written statement in which he claimed he and McElhenney had sex on "numerous occasions" at her apartment. He reportedly told cops that the relationship began in February . . . about the same time that rumors about the tryst surfaced at the school, which the district tried to investigate but was unable to substantiate. For some reason though, McElhenney offered a letter of resignation in March and indicated she would be leaving the district on May 25h to teach elsewhere. Instead, she was arrested that day. According to the Dallas Morning News article, the Miss Texas Web site shows that Ms. McElhenney competed in 2002 as Miss Bexar County when she was a student at the University of Texas at Austin. Bad Coach's Wife? Woman Accuses Wife of Dallas Coach Avery Johnson of Assault - Cassandra Johnson was just trying to watch Game 4 of the Western Conference finals with her children. Unfortunately, two Suns fans in front of her--Rebecca Kettle and her boyfriend Jose Martinez--kept standing and cheering, blocking their view. According to a witness, Mrs. Johnson, who just happens to be married to Dallas Maverick's coach Avery Johnson, then did what any mother would do, and used an obscenity when telling the couple to sit down. And yes, that apparently went over as well as you would have expected and the three got into an argument, at which point Mavericks owner Mark Cuban--always a voice of calm and reason--decided to get involved. The stories differ at this point with both parties agreeing there was an argument, but Kettle now claims that Johnson hit her twice in the shoulder during the confrontation. So far, no one has been arrested or charged in the incident. (Free Press)

O.J. Simpson Update: Daughter Gets Community Service for Confrontation With Cops at HS B-Ball Game - Remember this story from January of 2005? Miami cops were called to Ransom Everglades School to stop a fight after a boys' basketball game against Gulliver Prep. Among the fans at the game was Gulliver grad Sydney Simpson--daughter of O.J.--who was apparently in the middle of the fracas. According to police, while she was being taken into custody, Ms. Simpson not only slapped an officer's hand she also repeatedly yelled profanities at them. She eventually pleaded not guilty to resisting arrest without violence and disorderly conduct, but took a plea bargain whereby charges will be dropped if she completes 50 hours of community service . . . and helps her dad find the "real killers." Okay, we made that last part up, but wouldn't it be fun if the judge put that in? NOTE: In case you forgot, it's now been almost 12 years since Nicole Brown Simpson and her friend, Ronald Goldman, were brutally murdered in her California home on June 12, 1994. (CNN)

MLB Pitcher Pulled Over for DUI: He and Female Companion Try and Hide From Cops in the Bushes - No episode of COPs would be complete without a short foot chase where the driver of a car that's been pulled over tries to make a run for it . . . . usually from the one cop on the force who used to be a college sprinter. Indians pitcher Scott "What Was I Thinking?" Sauerbeck found himself in a similar situation over the weekend, with a young woman--not his wife--at the wheel of a 1966 Lincoln convertible. Cops apparently spotted it driving erratically at 4 o'clock in the morning and tried to pull the vehicle over. The young woman driving the car, Lily Miller, allegedly tried to get away, pulled the car into some stranger's driveway and--according to police--she and Sauerbeck calmly walked into the backyard, then jumped a fence and hid successfully in the bushes for almost 45 minutes. When the cops finally booked the pair, Ms. Miller's BAC came in at a whopping .253% blood alcohol content, more than three times the legal limit . . . and enough to earn her a spot in the Top Ten of the BadJocks BAC Rankings. Although he wasn't behind the wheel, Sauerbeck was charged with obstructing official business and wrongful entrustment (apparently for letting a drunk chick drive his collectable car), while Miller was charged with obstructing official business and driving while intoxicated. After getting out on bond, the Cleveland lefthander told the media that, “In trying to do the right thing, I made a terrible error in judgment. It’s something I’ve I’m going to have to life with the rest of my life. I’m a big boy, and I’m going to have to deal with it.” Later, when asked to clarify what he meant by doing the “right thing," Sauerbeck would only add, “I’d love to, believe me, but legally, I can’t get into it.” At right, the mug shots of Scott Sauerbeck and Lily Miller. I’m a Basketball Player" - We're all for looking out for your teammates in a tight spot, but when the cops are arresting one of your friends in the early morning hours it's probably best just to meet him later with bail money. In Miami Beach over the weekend, officers tried to get Washington Wizards forward Awvee Storey out of the middle of the street. When he refused, they started to arrest him. Enter Wizards guard Gilbert Arenas who got out of his car and approached the action. According to police, they told Arenas to mind his own business and when he interfered they arrested him as well, but not before he told officers, “You can’t arrest me. I’m a basketball player. I play for the Washington Wizards, and I’m not going to leave my teammate.” Officers obliged and took the pair together to jail. (MSNBC.com)

Duke Lacrosse Update: Second Stripper Appears in Court, Makes Obscene Gesture to TV Camera - This just keeps getting better and better, doesn't it? Kim Roberts, the second exotic dancer who performed at a March 13 Duke University lacrosse team party where another woman claims she was sexually assaulted by three athletes made a court appearance on an unrelated embezzlement charge on Tuesday. New Zealand Rugby Player Starts Bar Brawl, Teammate Smacks Him With Woman's Handbag, Makes Him Cry - Rugby players and bar brawls are no strangers to the pages of BadJocks. They go together like soccer fans and rioting. So, when we heard that two New Zealand rugby players were involved in a bar brawl over the weekend, we weren't too impressed . . . until we found out they were fighting with each other and that the winner had used a women's handbag to make the other one cry. According to reports, it all started when Chris Masoe, who had been drinking in the bar with several other Wellington Hurricanes players, allegedly punched a patron in the face. According to the victim Masoe, who was--and we quote--"off his chops," tripped over the other guy's feet at the bar, got up and promptly punched him in the jaw. Before the victim could respond, the Hurricanes team captain, Tana Umaga, got involved and eventually knocked Masoe to his senses using the only weapon he could find available . . . a woman's handbag? The night of drunken rugby player fun ended with Masoe in tears and both men facing the possibility of team fines for the brawl. (CNN International)

College Baseball Player Caught With Fake AK-47 - A woman delivering food to a dorm at Rider University in New Jersey thought she saw something ominous on the floor of one of the room: guns. And not just any guns, big guns: including one that looked like an AK-47 assault rifle. So, of course, she did with any underpaid delivery person would do, she called the police. The cops assumed the worse and arrived in full force locking down the building and busting into the room with guns drawn, only to find . . . a pellet gun. Granted, a pellet gun that's made to look like an AK-47, but not the lethal weapon arsenal they were expecting to find. Still, keeping such a gun in a dorm room is still probably not a good idea and freshman James Kennedy, 18, a pitcher on the school's baseball team has been charged with unlawfully possessing a weapon at an educational institution. "Hot Cheerleader" Videos Being Sold on Ebay Upset Girls' Families - Someone is attending HS football games in Southern California and bringing along his video camera . . . but not to tape the games. According to a report by NBC 4 in Los Angeles, there's an Ebay seller who is focusing his camera instead on the cheerleaders -- focusing on their mouths, breasts and crotches, freezing shots under their skirts, during kicks or splits. He then auctions off the tapes on Ebay as "hot cheerleader videos" and is getting upwards of $70 each for them. And, although the families of these mostly underage girls are obviously upset, local law enforcement officials say there are no laws being broken and nothing for them to go after this guy about.
