Town Cricket Club Banned Because of Streaker at Last Year's Tournament, Topless Female Pitcher Apparently Not a Problem, Though - Okay, so during a match your team hosted last year a guy took off his clothes and ran naked across the field, put his clothes back on and without being arrested by local cops or questioned by security sits down with your booster club for the rest of the day. So what? Well for one British team it means they were banned from a small town cricket team competition this year after officials found out about the incident. The club's excuse? Stuff like this happens all the time during their matches and it's no big deal. Why a few years ago (if you take the time to read further down in the story) "a girl bowled topless for the whole game and nothing was said or done about that." Why isn't this sport more popular in the US? (Macclesfield-Express) Florida Student Newspaper Profiles Gator Athlete Misdeeds Pictured on Facebook - Now the student newspapers are getting into the act! AlligatorSports.org did some digging on the college student social network Facebook.com and found several pictures of U of Florida athletes doing less than approved activities: urinating in public, drinking, and in at least one case, bragging about smoking ". . . a bowl every day right before practice." Of course when confronted, when confronted with these pictures of jocks gone bad, the school claims it will investigate thoroughly, but at the rate these things are being reported will the Gators athletic department have to hire more staff just to hand out the punishments? (AlligatorSports.org) Good News for Barry Bonds: Slugger Won't Be Indicted Today. Bad News: Prosecutors Extend Investigation, May Indict Him Later - Michael Rains, Bond's lawyer proclaimed, "They don't even have enough to indict a ham sandwich, much less Barry Bonds" but then had to admit that Barry's earlier statements about not knowing what was in substances given to him by friend/trainer Greg Anderson may have need to be clarified. Said Rains, "He was suspicious in light of what he had read as to whether those were steroids or not." Anderson has been subpoenaed to testify again next week and may continue to refuse to testify against his former client. (AP) Duke Football Sucks: Football Team Kicks Three Off Team, Suspends Starting QB for . . . Plagiarism? - Only at Duke. Head football coach Ted "Raise The" Roof has suspended starting quarterback Zack Asack for the season for plagiarism. He will be able to rejoin the team next summer, assuming he writes his own letter of apology to the team and doesn't buy one off the Internet that was previously used by Marcus Vick. (Fox Sports) Wanna Bet? Gaming Site Takes Wagers on Bonds' Indictment - They say you can gamble on almost anything, and that appears to be true after gaming website Bodog.com decided to allow fans to wager up to $50 on whether Barry Bonds will be indicted by a grand jury on tax evasion charges by the end of the month. Players can place a maximum bet of $50 on whether Bonds will be indicted and according to spokesman Kal Suurkasc bettors at the site right now believe the home run king will be indicted. The site also says it's even money that, should he be indicted, Bonds will blame the media for making him hide money from the IRS he earned from signing sports memorabilia to pay off his mistress . . . allegedly. (ABC News) Youth Baseball Coach Charged With Second-Degree Harassment for Alleged Attack on Own Player - The game was over. Everyone was heading home when a 14-year-old player, sitting in the back seat of a car behind his mother, made a sarcastic remark to an assistant coach as the man walked by. According to the boy's family, what happened next is not in the Little League Coach's Manual: they claim Robert Orlando, an assistant coach, reached unto the window of the car and grabbed 14-year-old Peyton McKinney by the neck. Fortunately, the boy didn't suffer any injuries so Coach Orlando wasn't charged with assault, however the lesser charge of second-degree harassment still carries a $250 sentence and/or 15 days in jail. (Times Union) #117! Pro Football Coach Faces 100 Counts of Possession of
Sexually Explicit Materials - A Nebraska volunteer youth football coach for
the Millard Athletic Association and the Omaha Beef of the United Indoor
Football League was arrested after police confiscated numerous items, including
computers, from his home. (KETV)

pitcher in the Japanese baseball league hits a former American major leaguer
with a pitch. Russian Sumo Wrestler Suspended for Slapping Photographers - First off: did anyone else know that there are Russian sumos? Certainly these man-mountains who sometimes weigh as much as 600 lbs are not the kind of guys you want to upset with such silly questions as, "Why did you lose?" But apparently something set off Roho, an "upper division wrestler ranked three slots below the sport's topmost tiers"--whatever the hell that means--after he lost a match to a Japanese sumo named ozeki Chiyotaikai. Both 'rasslers were unhappy after ozeki threw the Russian out of the ring with a move that sent both of them crashing into the expensive seats. Afterwards Roho--apparently still seething--slapped a couple of photographers in the dressing room. (AP) Preparing for the Worst: MLB Making Plans on What to Do About Barry Bonds if Grand Jury Indicts SF Slugger - You gotta love Major League Baseball and quasi owner/commissioner Bug Selig. When it suited the league to ignore steroids to get fans back in the stands after the '94 strike, they threw their whole bodies into complete denial. Now that it looks like fans aren't happy with the results of the "Steroid Era" the league is just as quick to throw star players under the bus, including Barry Bonds. It is starting to look like Mr. Bulky will get the "Al Capone treatment" and get indicted not for abusing steroids, but for tax evasion based on reports that he didn't tell the IRS about money he made from signing sports memorabilia. With those rumors getting stronger, MLB is already making plans on how to kick him to the curb as quickly as possible. (Washington Post)

relationship with a 17-year-old female student. The victim, who was in the
32-year-old teacher's history class, claimed some of the encounters occurred on
school property. (Star

Gymnastics Coaches Accused of Jabbing Young Boys in Buttocks With Drywall Screws to Improve Performance - Ah, nothing like a bleeding, punctured glute to get you to remember to stick the landing on your dismount next time, right? According to police, two coaches at Ace Gymnastics in Longwood, Florida could face criminal charges after after one of them admitted to stabbing training gymnasts (ages 8 & 10) with drywall screws . . . for years! According to the coach, it was done to him and that's just how he was taught to do it. Cops say that the mother of one of the young boys disciplined noticed the scars on the lad's hinder while giving him a bath and told the owner. The owner responded by hiring a new head coach and said they would make sure the practice stopped, but never reported it to law enforcement and actually kept the offending coaches on staff. When asked to explain the need for such a technique, the coach who admitted to doing it tried to claim that "a gymnast's mistake could cause a much more serious injury than a stab wound from a little screw." And for some reason, cops didn't buy that. Go figure. (WFTV) Thanks to Tony Lyons for the link! Back to Jail! Judge Sends Pamela Rogers to Prison for Seven Long Years - Poor Pamela Rogers: she got a slap on the wrist for having sex with a 13-year-old boy and then blew it. (Click here for details if you've been living under a rock for the past year.) Now the judge who originally sentenced her to six months has ordered her probation revoked and is sending her to prison for the full length of her original sentence -- 7 years! Said Circuit Judge Bart Stanley, "You have done everything except show this court that you wanted to rehabilitate yourself." Wow, that's cold, even for a judge. Although she tearfully apologized to the court for reportedly contacting her underage victim (and probably threw in one of those hair flip things that pretty girls seem to know how to do so well) it wasn't enough. Even her parents tried to sway the judge with a letter claiming their daughter was disturbed because of abusive treatment from her ex-husband, Chris Turner, and that he had subjected her to "mental, verbal and emotional abuse" and threatened to kill her. Turner's attorney denied the charges. A shrink even claimed she had two sides to her personality (not a split personality, mind you) one of which was still in junior high, apparently making it okay for her to have a middle school-aged boyfriend. And let's not forget that Rogers also faces four new felony charges for allegedly sending nude pictures of herself to the boy. (We don't have those pictures, but we do have a really awkward cell phone video where she tries to do a sexy dance.) Each carries a sentence of 2 years. (WAVE) Pictured at right, Pamela Rogers being lead away in handcuffs, which is embarrassing but not as bad as her dark roots starting to show through. U of Delaware Investigates Alleged Hazing Incident - As BadJocks reported back in May, the University of Delaware's Club Tennis and Club Field Hockey teams were accused by the guys behind the "Dirty 30" website (thencaaisweakonhazing.blogspot.com) of having posted initiation pictures online. The nice folks at UD want to assure the world that they do take these allegations seriously, so they have asked BadJocks to post the following message:
Grand Jury Indicts Pamela Rogers on Four New Felony Counts Over Nude Pictures - It has not been a good week for our favorite hot blonde former gym teacher, Pamela Rogers. On Friday she is scheduled to go before a judge who will decide if she violated probation after being released from her outrageously short 6 month stint in jail for having sex with a 13-year-old boy. For allegedly sending him sexy pictures and videos and creating a MySpace page to get his attention, Pam could be forced to serve out the full length of her original sentence, 7 years. But wait--like a bad infomercial--there's more! A grand jury has also decided that sending nude pictures of herself to the boy from her cell phone constitutes a whole new set of crimes. If convicted of those 4 new felonies (an adult sending pornographic images to a minor), it could result in an additional 8 years in jail. That means that, if convicted, the 28-year-old probably won't get out of prison until she's almost 43. Let's all bow our heads for a moment of silence. (Tennessean, com) In a related story, lawyers for Mary Kay Letourneau say that if Rogers become pregnant by her boy toy they will sue her for copyright infringement. |
