George Wythe football coach H.S. Ingo has been charged with hazing and subjecting a student to corporal punishment for an alleged incident involving a football player. Grayson County Commonwealth’s Attorney Douglas Vaught, who was appointed special prosecutor in the case, announced the charges Friday.
Both charges are misdemeanors. The charges will be heard in Wythe County Juvenile and Domestic Relations Court at a later date.
The charges stem from an alleged incident where a football player was reportedly told in January to place chains around his neck, and then told to run up and down bleachers while other student-athletes looked on. No one else has been charged in relation to the allegations.
