Bronco’s Exec Arrested for DUI After Smashing Into Patrol Car, Blows .246% BAC

Matt Russell mug shot

Congratulations to Denver Broncos Director of Player Personnel Matt Russell! After his arrest for DUI this week, we found out he blew an incredible blood alcohol concentration of .246%, more than three times the legal limit. That lands him in the Top Twenty of the World Famous BadJocks BAC Rankings. Which, of course, is quite an honor these days.

As to Russell’s claim that he only had “two green drinks”: to get a BAC that high with that few drinks, he’d have to weigh about 25 lbs. Possible, but not likely Matt.

Thanks to reader Trippy for the tip!

Here’s more from NBC Sports:

Russell allegedly crashed into the rear of a patrol car at an estimated speed of 40 miles per hour. The officer had pulled over to allow Russell’s Toyota Tundra pickup truck to pass, so that the officer could then pull Russell’s vehicle over. The officer suffered a cut on his arm, as well as neck and back pain.

According to the officer’s report, Russell “had no recollection of the accident,” and Russell told the officer that he had consumed “two green drinks.” A half-empty fifth of peppermint schnapps was retrieved from the truck.
