#Mississippi QB Randall Mackey Arrested for Bar Fight, Won’t Start Opener

Well, the starting quarterback competition at Mississippi has been resolved, but it wasn’t on the field. The Rebel’s junior QB Randall Mackey’s arrest for disorderly conduct after a fight at a downtown Oxford bar early Tuesday morning. In his place, Coach Houston “Don’t Call Me Salty” Nutt will start an old tackling dummy against BYU.

Private Academy Accuses Players of #Hazing During “Spiritual Emphasis Retreat”

Well, that’s a new one.

Usually football players are hazed at summer camps or in the locker room after practice. But the players at  Davidson Academy in Tennessee have set a new standard by allegedly hazing younger players during something the school described as a “spiritual emphasis retreat”.  No details on exactly what happened, but we’re sure the victims don’t feel like “turning the other cheek” these days.

And with that, the Official Start of the “Fall Football Hazing Season” has begun. We’ll start seeing stories about every day for the next few weeks.
