Say what? Why would the University of Tulsa suspend senior Damaris Johnson, the little-known, but dangerous, wide receiver who just happens to be the NCAA all-purpose yardage record holder? And on the eve of their biggest game against top ranked Oklahoma? Because his girlfriend got arrested? Why would that have anything to do . . . oh, it appears that Damaris was given the the “employee discount” at Macy’s because his girlfriend, Chamon Jones, works there.
Well, that doesn’t seem like such a big deal . . . until you learn that he paid $12.91 for merchandise worth $1583.18 on August 20th, and 34-cents for $1238.59 worth of stuff five days later. That seems like a little more than 10% off the retail price to us, but then again we were never very good at math.
The icing on the cake is that Johnson actually used Jones debit card to make the $13.25 “deal.”
You remember the excitement of being a teenager attending your first high school football game with your friends, right? Now, imagine showing up to the game and being told it’s sold out and they’re not letting anyone else in . . . and all your friends are inside. That’s what happened at the Northwestern vs. South Pointe High School (SC) football game last weekend and two teen-aged girls decided to come up with their own solution, mainly climbing over a fence. Instead of getting in though, they were caught by police and arrested, thus opening up seats for some other kids who showed up late.
The tide appears to have turned in college sports and we’re here to try and hold back the water, so to speak. So today, we’re announcing not one, but TWO new features here on the site to help clean up college athletics:
- The Snitch on Your School! Program – Starving college students can earn a $10 gift card for reporting NCAA violations to us. Click here for details.
- The Disgusting Dozen – Ranking the 12 most corrupt college sports schools . . . in our opinion. Click here to see who’s ranked #1!
As always, your feedback on these features (and the site in general) is appreciated! BadJocks at Yahoo.com.
