Duke Linebacker Arrested for Trafficking Cocaine

Duke University Blue Devil mascot logoWhat a wild time it is down in Blue Devil Land.  1st, the lacrosse rape accuser from yesteryear is charged with murder & now comes news about sophomore linebacker Tyree Glover, who was busted for trafficking the 80’s drug of choice: cocaine.

Coach David Cutliffe dismissed him from the team & offered this reasoning: “for conduct unbecoming of a member of the program”.  Let it now & forever be known that Duke does not want their athletes to deal drugs.  Check. Maybe while he’s at it, Glover can look for cocaine abuse treatment information and write an essay about it for class.

Let us also not forget that last year, 3 players were also kicked off the team for firing a gun on campus.  Devils, indeed.

The Hearld-Sun has the details:

Glover was arrested by Durham police on Gregson Street and charged with trafficking in cocaine, police spokeswoman Kammie Michael said Wednesday.  Michael said police then obtained a search warrant and searched his dorm room on the Duke campus where they found marijuana.  Michael said police confiscated 29.6 grams of powder cocaine and 72.4 grams of marijuana.

Glover was charged with trafficking in cocaine and possession of marijuana and cocaine with the intent to sell and deliver.
