Some of the best sports videos come from high school games where anything goes. Take for example this Mississippi high school baseball game between South Panola and Tupelo. In the bottom of the sixth Tupelo’s J.D. Roberts hit one to left field and Caleb Walker (seen in the video) comes in from second base, rounds third and was told to keep going.
But, of course, the catcher for South Panola was blocking home plate, so Walker did what any ballplayer would do: he slid, then jumped over the catcher and tagged home. Safe!
Not only was it a great moment for Walker, it turned out to be a turning point for Tupelo who went on to win the game 7-2. (Source – WCSH)
UPDATE: We’re hearing from some readers that leaping or jumping like that is forbidden in high school baseball and that Walker should have been called out. Anyone with expertise in this area care to weigh in? Drop us an email at BadJocks at Yahoo.com.
