It’s another case of true love that wasn’t meant to be. He was a 37-year-old cross country coach at Whitmore Lake High School in Michigan. She was a 14-year-old girl who the coach had met online and started chatting up. His love grew stronger, bolder. She, it turns out was actually a middle-aged male cop pretending to be an underage girl to catch online predators. Unlike even the worst romantic comedies, this one would not turn out well in the end.
Authorities say they do not have any reason to believe that any students in the Whitmore Lake School District were victimized by a Brighton man who coaches track that was busted in a internet sex sting. 37-year-old Larry James Bostwick Jr. was busted by a Detective with the Macomb Area Computer Enforcement team who portrayed himself on the Internet last Friday as a 14-year-old girl. Macomb County Sheriff Anthony Wickersham tells WHMI that Bostwick initiated text messages and online chats with the detective and later said he wanted to meet the girl for the purpose of having sex. He was arrested after arrived at a location in Harrison Township.
