Up until now, the Dyker Beach Golf Club in Brooklyn was most famous for being the course where a young Tiger Woods learned to play golf from his father. Now, it’s famous for a pair of the largest golf cart “demolition derbys” we’ve ever reported on.
According to police, a gang of nearly 20 teens and young men broke into the course and wrecked over 45 carts in two separate incidents this summer. In the first incident involving 20 wrecked carts, they found them all over the course crashed into trees, tipped over and just generally wrecked. In another incident, one cart was set on fire, while an estimated 25 others were piled on top of one another in a sand trap. Ultimately, two teens were arrested after neighbors saw them riding one of the carts down the street . . . in Brooklyn? Yeah, that’s not gonna draw any attention to you.
“There were two separate incidents within about two months,” with about 20 carts wrecked, said Sal Frasca, who works at the course’s pro shop. “They trashed golf carts – they were upside down, crashed into trees, they were trying to tip them over – all over the golf course.”
One cart was set afire; 25 others were piled up in a sand pit. Many were badly damaged, with broken axles, cracked roofs, and dented bodies.
Not This Sh*t Again? HS Track Coach Accused of Sex With Underage Girl
This is not a repeat from earlier today. Well, we guess, technically it is because we have another report of a high school track coach allegedly having sex with an underage girl. Of course earlier today (see story of Eugene Henry Dennis) that guy was married with kids and was almost caught by his wife allegedly having sex with the girl in his own home. This guy, Allen J. Morris is single and apparently doesn’t have a home of his own because he is accused of sneaking into the bedroom of a 15-year-old girl from the team after stalking her on Facebook.
So, totally different story.
Here’s more from the Gazette Xtra:
Allen J. Morris, 23, Orfordville, appeared in Rock County Court on a charge of felony second-degree sexual assault of a child. Morris, appearing in court in a suit and tie, waived his right to a preliminary hearing. Morris, a former assistant coach, is suspected of turning the Facebook friendship with a 15-year-old girl into a relationship, eventually meeting the girl at Footville Park and at her home.
The two kissed at the park, kissed near the school’s choir room and later had sexual contact when Morris sneaked into her bedroom after a track meet, according to the criminal complaint. The relationship began in March and lasted three to four weeks, according to the complaint. Morris later told the girl their relationship should end.
A student uninvolved with the situation told a parent about Morris and the girl. Morris was suspended from his job as a supervisor at the high school weight room and as a volunteer track coach.
Math Teacher/Track Coach Accused of Sex With HS Girl, Was Nearly Caught by Wife at Home
A Fond du Lac High School (Wisconsin) track coach and part time math teacher is apparently in full time trouble with the law. Eugene Henry Dennis, 35, is accused of having an inappropriate relationship with an underage girl from December of last year, all the way to April of 2010. Along the way, prosecutors say, they became pretty close, referring to each other publicly as “boyfriend and girlfriend.” Which would all be kind of cute except Dennis is a married man and his relationship with the girl allegedly included romps in his car and at his home. And one of those encounters at his home, police say, Dennis’ wife showed up and the girl had to hide.
Don’t you just hate that when that happens?
Here’s more from WBAY:
Appearing in court Thursday afternoon, former math teacher and track coach Eugene Henry Dennis, 35, now faces four counts of child enticement and three counts of sexual assault of a student by school staff. According to the criminal complaint, Dennis and the student — whose age is being withheld by the State — referred to themselves as “boyfriend and girlfriend.”
The complaint alleges Dennis had sexual contact with the student multiple times in his car and at his house between December 2009 and April this year. In the criminal complaint, the student says there was an incident in March where the student and Dennis were here at Dennis’s home having sexual contact with each other. That’s when Dennis’s wife came into the house and the student said she ran and hid in a room.
