Cops Arrest “Softball Guy” During Co-ed Game, Allegedly Making Threats to Get Gun, “Slaughter Everyone”

You all know “Too Serious Softball Guy” don’t you? He’s usually the one at friendly company picnic games dressed in full uniform and eye black.  He only uses that customized bat he paid big bucks for on the Internet, and gets mad at you if you give “less than 150%” to the game . . . any game . . . that involves keeping score. “Too Serious Softball Guy” isn’t a bad guy, just usually annoying and only infrequently violent.

Not sure what set this guy (Thor Theis) off, but likely it was a close call at the plate, or maybe someone drinking a beer in the outfield. Whatever it was, he got crazy enough for someone to call the cops.

On the plus side, maybe he can earn a starting spot on the prison softball team? They were 16-1 last year with two escapes.

Details from KIMT:

A 22-year-old Mason City man is in Cerro Gordo County Court after allegedly hitting another player with his baseball glove, swinging a bat at others and saying he was going to get a gun and slaughter them all.

Thor Theis has been charged with disorderly conduct, simple assault and first-degree harassment which is an aggravated misdemeanor. The incident unfolded at a co-ed softball game Sunday night at the Frederick Hanford ball diamonds at 824 23rd St. S.W. No one was injured
