The life of an NFL cheerleader is never dull . . . even after they leave the field. Take Mary Delgado for example: she used to be a cheerleader for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and parlayed that into a couple of stints on the TV show The Bachelor. This isn’t the first time Mary has had trouble with booze. Back in 2008 she was arrested in a Texas bar for refusing to leave and ultimately caused the cops enough trouble to be charged with resisting arrest.
This time, as a DUI, it could be much more serious.
Mary Delgado, a former two-time contestant on The Bachelor, told police she’d had “one and a half glasses of wine” the night she was pulled over and arrested for DUI, according to the official police report obtained exclusively by RadarOnline.com. Delgado, 42, was pulled over by police at 12:45 AM ET on August 12 in Tampa, FL for a broken front headlight.
According to the report, her arresting officer noticed a “distinct odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from the vehicle” and noted that Delgado had “bloodshot, watery and glassy” eyes. Delgado first told the officer she hadn’t had anything to drink, shortly changing her story to “one glass of wine” before later admitting she had one and a half glasses prior to her arrest.
When asked to perform a standard field sobriety test, the report says Delgado also “swayed from side to side, failed to touch her finger to her nose” and “couldn’t walk heel to toe in a straight line.” The former Tampa Bay Buccaneers cheerleader was charged with a misdemeanor driving under the influence.
