When this story first broke, word was that Eagles quarterback Michael Vick had left LONG before there was any gunplay outside a Virginia Beach restaurant. Now it turns out, according to the security footage from the Guadalajara that Vick and crew left only minutes before–and into the direction–that shots were fired. That’s not to say–or even imply–that he’s guilty of any wrongdoing, but it does make you wonder, doesn’t it?
And, of course, Mr. Vick is still on probation for that little dog-fighting thing from a couple of years back, so no reason his people would want to distance him from this sort of thing, right?

The Virginia Beach restaurant that hosted Michael Vick’s birthday party has video that disputes the account given by Vick’s attorney of the moments prior to a shooting that occurred near the establishment early Friday, a restaurant partner said Tuesday.
Guadalajara restaurant spokesman Allen Fabijan said owners turned over surveillance video to Virginia Beach police Tuesday morning after establishing a timeline that conflicts with that outlined to media by Vick’s attorney, Larry Woodward. Fabijan said that two cars carrying Vick, a Philadelphia Eagles quarterback from Newport News, “and his entourage” drove off from in front of the restaurant at 2:07 a.m. Three minutes later, shots rang out from the direction the cars had gone, Fabijan said.
“You can see everybody duck at 2:10,” Fabijan said of bystanders on the video. “I’m not saying that Michael Vick did the shooting. But he did not leave (long) before” as Woodward said his client told police Monday. “I stand by what I said, that Michael was long gone before the shooting, does not know who did the shooting and had nothing to do with the shooting,” Woodward said Tuesday. “Anyone who says any different better be very careful.”
