Coaches getting busted for sex with underage girls? Pretty common here at BadJocks. Coaches who are also security guards at their schools. Not as common, and certainly the combination coach/security guard getting arrested for alleged sex crimes is even less common. Unless, of course, you work at Desert Springs Middle School in California.
A security guard at Desert Springs Middle School was arrested Tuesday on suspicion of sex crimes involving girls at the school, Desert Hot Springs police said. Marvin Cash, 45, was arrested Tuesday morning at his home in Desert Hot Springs, police said. Police had obtained an arrest warrant charging Cash with committing a lewd act on a child under the age of 14 using force, sexual battery and two counts of annoying or molesting a minor, according to a news release and court records. Authorities said the incidents were reported by multiple girls who were students at Desert Springs Middle School, 66-755 Two Bunch Palms Trail.
Cash worked as a security guard at the middle school, and police said at least one of the suspected crimes occurred there during school hours. The athletic Web site for Desert Hot Springs High School also lists Cash as the coach of the high school’s freshman and junior varsity boys’ basketball teams.
