Man Accused of Flashing Girls Soccer Team on Bus

For the players on the Richlands High School girl’s varsity soccer team, it should have been a joyous occasion, traveling by bus to the second round of soccer playoffs in North Carolina. Instead, they watch out the windows as a man drove by in his car and masturbated in front of them. And, once again modern technology helped with his arrest as a fast-thinking player pulled out her cell phone and took a picture of Mr. Vidalia King Jr., 21, in “all his glory.” He now faces a bunch of charges related to indecent exposure and should probably take that Oprah pledge about texting and driving, because, well, there’s probably not an organization devoted to stopping drivers from doing what he was doing.

A Grifton man has been accused of flashing a group of Onslow County students who were traveling to Dare County for the second round of soccer playoffs. Vidalia King Jr., 21, of Contentnea Drive in Grifton, was charged Friday by the Lenoir County Sheriff’s Office with eight counts of indecent exposure and eight counts of taking indecent liberties with a child. The Richlands High School girl’s varsity soccer team was traveling along N.C. 11 to First Flight High School in Dare County on May 14 when the alleged incident occurred, said Barry Collins, the spokesman for Onslow County Schools.

They were about a mile from Grifton when the bus driver, Assistant Principal Colin Smith, took note of a red car maintaining speed next to the bus and noticed students talking and pointing, Collins said. When the bus stopped for a railroad crossing the car went by the bus and kept going. The students later told Smith that “the man driving the car pulled his penis out and was masturbating while driving down the road,” Collins said.
