Christie Elliot taught English and was also the cheerleading coach at Empire High School. That is, she did until this week when she turned herself in over an affair with a male student. Once again, messages left on a cell phone helped cops catch a woman who should have known better.

Christie Elliot, a teacher and cheerleading coach at a Tucson, Ariz. high school, has been arrested for allegedly having a sexual relationship with one of her male students.  Tucson police said in a statement released Monday night that the 25-year-old English teacher faces charges of luring a minor for sexual exploitation and sexual conduct with a minor.  According to police, a parent found inappropriate messages on his son’s cell phone in April and reported them to the school. A police investigation included search warrants and interviews, and concluded that the boy had an inappropriate sexual relationship with his English teacher.
