Stanford Point Guard Arrested for DUI on Golf Cart

It has not been the career for the Cardinal that senior JJ Hones had hoped for: she’s already missed most of two seasons of the past four because of surgeries to her left knee. At the end of this season she had yet another surgery, but hoped to come back for a fifth “super senior” year after her recovery from that operation. And, while we can understand her frustration, it still doesn’t explain getting arrested for DUI at 4 a.m. on a golf cart. It also sounds like she allegedly tried to outrun the cops. Again, on a GOLF CART. Then again, that might have been a fun chase if the Stanford cops had been on Segways. Now THAT’S  video game I’d like to play.

Guard JJ Hones, who was dismissed from the Stanford women’s team Monday, was arrested May 2 for allegedly driving under the influence, reckless driving, evading a police officer and resisting arrest on campus, according to Fanhouse.com.

Stanford police told the Web site that Hones was driving a golf cart on campus in a reckless manner in the early hours and failed to obey the commands of pursuing officers. She was eventually stopped and failed a field sobriety test.
