Two members of the Indianola Middle School track team were charged with assault last week in connection with an alleged hazing incident. Carter Jacobsen, 14, and Trey Kuehl, 15, both of Indianola, were accused of tackling a 14-year-old teammate and holding him down before a track practice. Kuehl and Jacobsen were charged with simple assault in Warren County juvenile court, according to a police report filed April 13 by Officer Chris Marsh.
Indianola Middle School Principal Mike O’Meara told police that Kuehl and Jacobsen held the victim down and rubbed their testicles on his face. “There were some sexual connotations in the report but we couldn’t establish that, so we just charged them with simple assault,” Police Chief Steve Bonnett said.
The victim’s mother declined to comment when reached Monday. Kuehl and Jacobsen told school authorities that they held the victim down, but denied rubbing their testicles on his face, according to Marsh’s police report.
