Little League Coach Punches League Prez in Jaw During Game

Adults getting too emotional about their kid’s sporting events is nothing new hear at BadJocks. Coaches brawling is also nothing new. What is disturbing about this story is that the alleged punch thrower/Little League coach apparently had a “lengthy criminal past, including arrests for assault and domestic violence.” And he’s coaching kids? Something’s not right here . . .

A Canton Little League coach accused of punching another man Tuesday at a tournament game in Massillon has been released from jail.  Karim Carter, 41, of 1719 Cherry Ave. NE, posted 10 percent of a $10,000 bond Thursday in Municipal Court following his arraignment on one count of felonious assault, a second-degree felony. Court records show Carter has a lengthy criminal past, including arrests for assault and domestic violence.

According to police, Carter struck Shawn Thomas, 40, president of the Canton Little League, in the face. Thomas was trying to calm Carter when he was assaulted. Thomas was treated at Affinity Medical Center for a dislocated jaw and two broken teeth, according to court officials.
