HS Football Coach Caught in Bondage Assault in Basement of Girl’s Home

This one makes no sense at all. A high school football coach is accused of sexually assaulting a 16-year-old girl since 2006. How was he caught? According to police, he was in the basement of the girl’s parent’s home with her. So far, not too unusual.  What was out of the ordinary was that the victime had her hands bound with duct tape and she was tied to a pole and he was, well, Coach Thomas Ott was NOT coaching football. The girl was apparently screaming, so her brother called the cops who showed up and arrested Ott. Which raises a lot of questions, like:
Where were the girl’s parents?
How long hand this little game with the duct tape been going on?
Couldn’t a good lookin’ fella like that get girls the old fashioned way?

The head football coach at Cape Henlopen High School was arrested Thursday night and charged with raping a teenage girl, police said.  Thomas A. Ott, 39, of Lewes, was charged with four counts each of second-degree rape and unlawful sexual contact, two counts of fourth-degree rape, and one count each of continuous sexual abuse of a child and unlawful imprisonment, said state police spokesman Sgt. Walter Newton.

According to court records, the victim’s brother called for help Thursday after hearing his sister screaming in the basement of a Lewes home.  Police say the abuse had been continuous since 2006.  Arriving troopers found the girl in a “hysterical state” with residue of duct tape around her wrists from where Ott allegedly had “taped her hands above her head and taped them together around a pole” before sexually assaulting her, police said in court records.
