Oregon DOJ Investigating $2.3 Million Payout to Former AD Mike Bellotti

Kids: forget going to school to become a doctor or lawyer. They make chump change compared to University of Oregon athletic directors. Actually, the base salary isn’t that great ($675 grand), but when you quit after less than a year on the job (sweet!) you can rake in a cool $2.3 million as you jump to a high paying job at a cable sports network.  It’s one of those win-win situations, don’t you think? And it’s not like the State of Oregon is hurting for money, right?

Anyone know if UO has posted Belotti’s old job yet? I might just throw my hat into the ring. Besides who knows more about college athletes getting in trouble than me? And I would promise to work an entire year before quitting and taking my $2.3 million. Deal?

The Oregon Department of Justice is reviewing the resignation agreement between Mike Bellotti and the University of Oregon, a handshake-based deal that calls for $2.3 million in payments to the former Oregon athletic director.   The agreement was first reported by the Eugene Register-Guard on March 19, the day Bellotti announced he was leaving to take a job at ESPN. Oregon president Richard Lariviere signed it that day; Bellotti had signed it March 16.

Bellotti, who was to be paid $675,000 annually, did not have a written contract during the nine months he spent as athletic director. The departure agreement apparently also was unwritten until shortly before Bellotti resigned.  “A lot of issues, that among them, have been raised in the media,” said spokesman Tony Green of the Oregon Department of Justice. “At this point the attorney general doesn’t have any firsthand information about it, so that’s the purpose of the review.”

Miami Heat’s Dorell Wright Apologizes for Nude Web Photo

Pro athletes and nude photos. They’re getting as common as, well, pro athletes and steroids . . . and almost as much fun. This time it’s another NBA athlete, forward Dorell “Excuse Me While I Whip This Out” Wright of the Miami Heat.

Heat forward Dorell Wright apologized Monday after a naked picture of him surfaced recently on various websites and Twitter accounts. The picture, featuring frontal nudity, was taken during a private video chat session a year ago.  According to the site mediatakeout.com, a groupie posted the picture after Wright’s girlfriend — who is the mother of his child — commented about how great Wright is.

“I’d like to apologize to my family, friends and the Heat organization for this embarrassment,” Wright said in a statement. “The photos were taken roughly one year ago in what I thought was a private conversation. I lacked judgment and was naïve about the Internet. I realize this is not an excuse but it is something I truly regret. I realize this affects my entire family and I’m embarrassed by it.”

Country Singer Mindy McCready Claims Roger Clemens Had “A Lot of Problems with Erectile Dysfunction"

Well, so much for being known as “The Rocket.” Apparently even a hot, blond, barely legal country singer (no, not Taylor Swift) wasn’t even to get him, uh “ready to take the field” if you know what we mean. All of this comes out in a sex tape entitled “Baseball Mistress” starring Mindy McCready who goes on to talk in depth about her relationship with the former baseball star.

No we haven’t seen the video, but you’ve gotta trust a lady who’s last big hit was a stint on Dr. Drew’s “Celebrity Rehab” reality show.

Kim Kardashian and Paris Hilton became famous after their sex tapes were released. Now Pop Tarts has learned exclusively that Vivid Entertainment, the company that released Kardashian’s video, is releasing a sex tape starring controversial country crooner Mindy McCready and a former boyfriend named “Peter.”  A source close to the situation said that McCready and her ex engage in explicit sex in the XXX video. But that’s not all.

The star of Dr. Drew’s VH1 series “Celebrity Rehab” also kisses and tells in the film, titled “Baseball Mistress” due to her alleged affair with married pitcher Roger Clemens. In fact the video is interspersed with graphic details of several raunchy romps with a slew of stars.

On one of the interview portions, McCready says that she and Clemens didn’t get intimate until she was of legal age, and describes the MLB star as being “good” in bed, despite having “a lot of problems” with erectile dysfunction.  She also insisted that she isn’t a “bad girl,” saying the wildest place they ever got down and dirty was a hot tub in Palm Springs.
