A man has been arrested after invading the pitch at a youth football match and head-butting a player. Parents and players were left shocked after the 41-year-old man jumped over a barrier and attacked the 16-year-old goalkeeper. The incident at the under 17 match between Stony Stratford Town and Willen Juniors FC on Sunday is the latest in a string of unsavoury incidents to hit the Milton Keynes and Border Counties Youth Football League.
Thames Valley Police confirmed a man from Aldridge Drive, Willen, has been arrested on suspicion of assault. The division one clash was described by a witness as ‘feisty’ and the Citizen understands several players were sent off during the game.
