Citadel Quarterback Arrested for Armed Robbery of His Own Coach!

We’re not saying that Citadel Quarterback Miguel Starks is stupid, but how did he expect to get away with robbing one of his own coaches, a man who could probably ID the football star by smell alone. Someone must have needed the money badly because Starks once promising college career (and possible shot at the NFL) are over.
Citadel quarterback Miguel Starks faced a bond hearing Sunday morning on charges including kidnapping, armed robbery and first-degree burglary. But the most surprising news at the hearing was the identity of Starks’ victim — Citadel assistant football coach Joshua Harpe.

Starks was denied bond on the burglary charge, while Citadel football coach Kevin Higgins issued this statement Sunday afternoon:

“Like the rest of The Citadel community, we are shocked, angry and saddened by the alleged events involving Miguel Starks Friday evening. Senseless does not begin to describe the situation. Miguel is an only child, loved and provided well for by his parents – Michael and Sharon. He has many talents and football is just one of them.

“We will continue to cooperate with the investigation in any way that we are asked and we will continue to move forward with the mission of our program and use this as a teachable moment that will help us educate principled leaders that will make our school and program proud.”

Starks, a 19-year-old sophomore from Atlanta, is charged with first-degree burglary, armed robbery, kidnapping and possession of a firearm during the commission of a violent crime.
