Employees at Lavar Arrington’s Failed Restaurant Still Waiting on Last Paychecks

The former Redskin star may have been awesome on the field, but apparently was awful with the books and now the people who used to work for him are spending the holidays wondering if they will ever get their last paychecks after Arrington’s restaurant suddenly closed right before Christmas.

Employees of LaVar Arrington’s now-defunct restaurant, The Sideline, spent Christmas in the cold, demanding they be paid. The former Redskins’ restaurant abruptly closed on Wednesday, stranding dozens of employees without a job, and without a paycheck. A handful of Arrington’s former workers protested outside the Largo restaurant on Friday, Christmas Day.

“I would love to be at home cooking a nice Christmas dinner, but instead i’m here trying to fight for my paycheck, because, frankly, I don’t have a Christmas dinner to cook,” said Brandy McCuller.

ABC 7 was there three days ago when the moving trucks pulled up and boxes rolled out of The Sideline. “I just stood in shock and thought, ‘Is this a joke?’” recalled Keira Turner. “‘Is this some weird Christmas joke gone bad?’”
