The year ends much the way it starts: with another high school coach sex scandal, this time between a female coach and female player.  The big question still remains: why does the mainstream media not investigate this story more and find out WHY this has become such a common occurrence? Why isn’t Oprah all over this with more than 200 of these being reported by BadJocks every year for the past 6 years? Maybe we’ll see something happen in 2010.

A local high school coach is spending the night in the Marion County Jail. Police say she took a relationship with a student too far and now faces a felony charge. 28 year old, Sara Strahm, has been coaching high school students for years. 24-Hour News 8 has learned that Strahm served as basketball coach at Decatur Central High School and assistant coach at Danville and Ben Davis High Schools. She is currently the head coach of the Pike High School Girls’ Basketball team. Now, Strahm is looking at a felony child seduction charge.

According to IMPD’s Sgt. Paul Thompson the relationship started months ago. “Apparently at the beginning of the school year of 2009 a relationship which they did not specify who initiated the relationship but it really doesn’t matter a relationship was initiated involving the 17 year old student and the 28 year old coach.” said Sgt. Thompson.
