X17 reports that Tiger Woods is attending rehab in Arizona. A source tells the web site that Woods’ “handlers” compelled him to enter rehab because “they feel that if he blames his cheating on addiction, the public will forgive him.” While the source does not specify what addiction Woods would be seeking treatment for, X17 finds it “obvious” that sex addiction would be at the top of the list.

This is not the first article to allege that the embattled golfer is seeking professional help. Earlier in December a report was published claiming that Woods was in an Arizona rehab clinic for “sexual compulsion” and Vicodin and Ambien use. The officer responsible for investigating Woods’ car accident reportedly requested a subpoena because he believed Ambien and Vicodin may have been a factor in the crash. Another report claimed that Woods was classified as an overdose patient when he was admitted to the hospital after his car accident.

Three Lake Gibson football players – including Polk County’s leading rusher- were among five Polk County teens charged Tuesday with armed robbery and possessing stolen property. Armed robbery is a felony; the possession of stolen property charge is a misdemeanor.

St. Augustine Beach Police arrested Quinshon Odom, Remi Watson and Umbuju Grant, all members of the Braves’ 2009 roster. Anthony Fernandez and Christopher Dewey, both students at Lake Gibson, also were arrested. Watson is The Ledger’s 2009 Large-School Offensive Player of the Year.

Odom, an 18-year-old senior, was booked into the St. Johns County Jail, where he is being held without bail. The other four, all 17-year-old juniors, were booked into a juvenile area of the St. Johns jail.

According to St. Augustine Beach police, Dewey, who was in his father’s 2005 Nissan Titan pickup, pointed a 12-gauge shotgun at two teenagers who were walking along A1A Beach Boulevard about 1 a.m. Tuesday. The victims, identified only as 16- and 12-year-old boys, emptied their pockets and put their cell phones onto the ground.

Police said one of the suspects, they were unsure which one, approached the victims to grab their property, but a car approached, startling the robbery suspects.

St. Augustine Beach Police Chief Richard Hedges said the five suspects didn’t take anything from the two younger boys before racing away-but the boys gave a good description of the pickup, and police soon pulled over the truck and its five occupants.

Employees of LaVar Arrington’s now-defunct restaurant, The Sideline, spent Christmas in the cold, demanding they be paid. The former Redskins’ restaurant abruptly closed on Wednesday, stranding dozens of employees without a job, and without a paycheck. A handful of Arrington’s former workers protested outside the Largo restaurant on Friday, Christmas Day.

“I would love to be at home cooking a nice Christmas dinner, but instead i’m here trying to fight for my paycheck, because, frankly, I don’t have a Christmas dinner to cook,” said Brandy McCuller.

ABC 7 was there three days ago when the moving trucks pulled up and boxes rolled out of The Sideline. “I just stood in shock and thought, ‘Is this a joke?’” recalled Keira Turner. “‘Is this some weird Christmas joke gone bad?’”
