Kid’s say the darnedest things! Then again, how could you forget that face?

Prosecutors alleging an illicit relationship between a former teacher from St. Croix Lutheran High School in West St. Paul and a standout girls basketball player were thrown a curveball Wednesday when the teen testified that she did not remember having sexual contact with Melissa Koehn, her former coach.

“Are you saying that you did not have any sexual contact with Ms. Koehn?” asked Assistant Dakota County Attorney Larry Clark. “Yeah,” responded the student, who is now 18. The Pioneer Press generally does not identify alleged victims of sex crimes.

Koehn, 31, of Kenosha, Wis., faces three counts of fourth-degree criminal sexual conduct involving someone age 16 or 17. It is a felony charge because the suspect is more than four years older than the alleged victim and was in a position of authority over her at the time.
