Members of a suburban football club have been accused of destroying several motel rooms and assaulting residents in a drunken rampage through a southwest Victorian town. During the 4am (AEDT) incident, televisions and microwaves were thrown off a balcony at a motor inn in Warrnambool.
Police say two rooms were completely “ruined” while two others were damaged at the King Street business. The rooms had been booked on Friday by about 20 men in their late teens and early 20s – all members of a southeast Melbourne football club. The group is believed to have been behind several complaint calls throughout Warrnambool, including assault after they moved into the area on Friday afternoon.
