Good Idea: Rewarding teen aged athletes for their hard work.
Bad Idea: Making the reward in the form of booze.
Cops in in Port Jefferson Station, N.Y say 22-year-old Spins Gymnastics Academy gymnastics coach Steven “Was That Wrong?” Lamensdorf wanted to reward a 14-year-old female gymnast for completing a difficult move. The reward? A bottle of Malibu rum.
So what did the girl do with the booze? Hide in her closet for later? Nope, according to cops she drank enough of it to make herself sick and end up in the hospital . . . which is where this whole story likely started to unravel.
Nope to coaches everywhere: booze is probably not the best way to reward your under aged athletes, no matter what they tell you. (UPI)
