So, if you were a cop, how long would it take you to use your taser when confronted by a 6 foot, 8 inch tall, 312 lbs drunk who’s jumping on top of cars and generally being uncooperative? About 5 seconds, I think. So is the case of Ohio State offensive lineman Alex Boone, who was arrested in Aliso Viejo, California (he was apparently there preparing for the NFL draft) Sunday night, after a tow truck driver called the cops.
According to the tow truck driver, Boone–who was obviously intoxicated–was yelling and jumping on cars outside an apartment building. He allegedly tried to interfere with the tow truck driver who was hauling a car away . . . and it wasn’t even Boone’s car. The driver says Boone tried to break the driver side window of the tow truck and was jumping up and down on the back and wanted to fight the him. At one point, Boone actually fell off the truck. Again, remembering this guy is 6’8″ and well over 300 lbs.
Then again, when the cops arrived, Boone ran away like a little girl. They found him hiding on a nearby patio and was yelling and cursing at officers. He refused to cooperate so the cops “dry tasered” him . . . basically meaning they didn’t fire the darts at him, just pressed the taser against him.
But the fun doesn’t end there: Boone was so drunk (officers estimated he was three times the legal limit) that officers took him to the hospital where he allegedly yelled and cursed at nurses. From the hospital, Boone was taken to jail where he remained so uncooperative that the booking process could not be completed and he had to be tasered several more times.
In a statement to the Buckeye Extra, Boone’s mom Amy claims that her little boy “has a problem that needs addressed” adding that, “. . . he’s hurting. He feels terrible that he let so many people down.”
Hurting? Could be all the tasering. (Bukeye Extra)
