My guess is, if you’re a HS basketball coach and the cops show up, DURING A GAME, and arrest a couple of your star players, that’s likely to mess with your game plan. We feel sorry for the coach at Lovejoy High School (IL) who had to sit there and watch as police arrested two of his players, Damion J. Boyd, 19, and Jimmie L. Clark, 18, while they were playing in Litchfield Invitational Basketball Tournament.
According to police the duo stole five IPods and some cash from players on the Civic Memorial High School team, which shared a locker room with Lovejoy High during the tournament. The Civic players reported the thefts after they came back to the locker room and Lovejoy took the court for their game. Police found four of the five missing IPods, some how did the whole CSI thing and managed to link the stolen items to the two Lovejoy players. At that point, the marched out on the court while the game was in progress and arrested Boyd and Clark.
Not surprisingly, Litchfield High School defaulted Lovejoy from the tournament field. (Journal News)
