Hmm, let’s see . . . a 23-year-old male cheerleading coach, a room full of perky underage girls with daddy issues . . . what could possibly gone wrong here? A lot, apparently. Not a lot of details yet, but we’re sure they will be coming out soon. Here’s the story from the Hattiesburg American:
A 23-year-old Sumrall man was arrested and charged with two counts of statutory rape and one count of child molestation. Zachary Riley, who coached cheerleading units at at least two area schools, was booked into the Lamar County Jail early Wednesday morning, Sheriff Danny Rigel said. Riley was scheduled to make his first appearance today in Lamar County Justice Court.
Details leading to the charges were unavailable Wednesday. Riley had worked on contract to teach routines to cheerleading squads at Purvis High and Presbyterian Christian School. Riley was not an employee of either school.
